What night time visitors do we get in the garden?

Have you ever wondered what night time visitors you get in your garden? Well I did, I know we have them, they leave evidence behind, some more so than others! So I set up a camera trap that I’m lucky to have and hope never to have stolen.

Sunset – the ever changing colours of the sky over Lanjaron

As you know living here in the Alpujarras, the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, we are often treated to spectacular sunsets over Lanjaron (the gateway to the Alpujarras). March 8th was one of those evenings that didn’t disappoint. I took so many photos I thought I would share some of the forever changing colours. Horse Trekking in the Alpujarras with Caballo Blanco Horse Trekking

Sarah and Ali our friends and the rest of the crew at Caballo Blanco Horse Trekking have produced a nice 5 minute video showing the delights of horse trekking in this wonderful part of Andalucia, so I thought I would share it with you.

The stables are situated on a small plateau at a height of 1200 metres above the spa town of Lanjaron in the Alpujarra region of Andalucia, close to Granada. Wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, hills and Sierra Nevada mountains are evident in all directions!

Bird watching with birdwatchalpujarras.com

Mum and Dad came for a week long visit and on one of their days visiting we took them on a half day birdwatch trip with bridwatchalpujarras.com run by Ian and Steve. They are a fairly new company that have set up their birdwatching tours base in our spa town of Lanjaron.
