Adventures, wildlife, and life in the Alpujarras

A beautiful new dog walk today, high above Lanjaron passing gushing water "acequias", with extensive views to the coast.
A summary of our expeditions to the Southern Patagonian Icefields
My own personal experience of the effects of becoming snow blind, after a tough time on the Patagonian Icecap
So there we were. A nice warm day, no clouds. What to do? So why not try that flat topped mountain that we can just see from our house that's in an unknown and remote location?
I went to check on the Lanjaron 7 this morning after shopping. Turns out they were the Lanjaron 20 or so!
Why do people use poison 😡 First day back at home after our Gibraltar trip and the morning has been spent at the vets with Rita. After this mornings walk, she proudly presented us with this bag of poi...
To the bastard who killed my JJ, hacked his head off to take home as a trophy, and left his body to rot. I hope you die a slow and painful death. You are not welcome on my land or any of my neighbours...

As you know living here in the Alpujarras, the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, we are often treated to spectacular sunsets over Lanjaron
We had a recent trip to Penon de la Mata in the Sierra de Huetor north of Granada. From here you get spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada.
I love getting up close and seeing a completely different world. Today's post is of a wasp!
