Here is a short video giving you a taste of Semana Santa week here in Lanjaron. Unfortunately I went out on Maundy Thursday night which is a bit of a somber affair.
The best night, I have been told, is Holy Wednesday, on this night both Jesus and Mary come out, most of the 4000 population of Lanjaron also attend, there is lots of cheering when Jesus bows to Mary! Hopefully someone will have videoed this and I shall be able to put the video on here.
I’m not a religious person but its a great spectacle to see and the community of Lanjaron really do get together for this week. Each village/town in Spain has their own processions every night over the Easter week from Sunday to Sunday and I believe Malaga is one of the best to go and see.
